In the Central West of Queensland, 600 head of cattle are being driven along the old Muttaburra-Aramac stock route by a boss drover and a group of enthusiasts that retraces part of the same route taken by Captain Starlight aka Harry Redford, on his famous cattle-duffing drive to South Australia.
If you fancy a week in the saddle, on seasoned station horses, with a fully-catered droving outfit, register your interest with the Barcaldine Shire. Sleeping under the stars in a swag and enjoying banter around the campfire - after a day's droving- is a unique Aussie experience.
